Seminar Unit Registration Graduate Program in Human Factors & Ergonomics Policy Statement

Each Human Factors/ Ergonomics student is required to complete the 2cr ISE 298 Human Factors/ Ergonomics seminar. The seminar must be attended for a minimum of two semesters, preferably during the student's first year in the program. In addition, after completion of the ISE 298 Seminar, each student in the HFE program is required to return to the Seminar and give two presentations to the seminar class. The first presentation will be a description of their thesis proposal and plan following its acceptance by their thesis committee; the second will be a presentation of their thesis results. Each student will be responsible for notifying the Seminar leader pertaining to his/her readiness to schedule each of these presentations.

Students are encouraged to register for the credits during the first year, while they are attending the seminar. However, students may sign up for the credits in one semester (2 credit) or over 2 semesters (1 credit each), and can choose which semesters to formally sign up for the class.
