    For the first time in the history of the college, the SJSU chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers International (SAEI) will be participating in the 2009 Formula SAE Student Design Competition held at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, from June 17-20.

    On Friday, May 22, the college held its graduation ceremony in the SJSU Event Center. There were 1,081 graduates this semester, consisting of 385 undergraduates and 696 graduate students.

    In the last six weeks of E10, Introduction to Engineering, students teams built and programmed a robot to perform an emergency rescue. The real-world application of this project is to simulate an industrial accident site, where toxic gas has leaked and a worker has become unconscious. The autonomous robot must be sent into the dangerous environment to turn off the gas leak and then save the unconscious person.
